Lions and lionesses, we bring you warm greetings from the upper chambers of the legislative arm, SUG University of Nigeria. We trust that, so far, the vacation is treating us well.

It is our resolve today, being October 1, 2017, to wish every students of this great institution Happy Independence Day and also to reassure you that we are upholding your mandate:
Since this session, the Senate has not relented in giving voice to voiceless Lions and lionesses by optimising the power of dialogue, which has greatly contributed to the repair of spoilt street lights along St. Peters Road in UNN,
Reduction in the Change of Degree fee, Restoration and Enhancement of WiFi in various parts of the University, Bringing the Attention of the School Administration to critical issues facing the school such as Poor maintenance of Hostels, Uncondusive learning conditions in various faculties, Appalling conditions of some Roads in UNN and UNEC amongst others.
These we have done in fulfillment of the Oath of Office which we swore and by the aid of our Amiable father the Vice Chancellor; Prof. B.C. Ozumba and his administrative team, the relentless SUG Executives and House of Representatives of both Campuses and Above all, the courageous, diligent and  great Lions and Lionesses!

It is our collective prayer that the nation becomes better and better as time goes on regardless of the tension currently trending within the country.

On another note, we wish to remind us the following:

1. We advise that you keep calm and get prepared as resumption is already around the corner. Once the official date is stated, the SUG will not hesitate to communicate us as usual.

2. The amount of school fees for this session is yet to be released so treat with much disregard any broadcast or information suggesting or stating that the amount has been released.

3. We also wish to remind you that our amiable Vice-Chancellor has made provision for accommodating our brothers and sisters who are coming to sit for their Post UME. However, those who wish to benefit from this opportunity are expected to pay to token of 3,000 only. You can inform those who are taking the exam. Visit for more information concerning this.

4. Be also reminded that the 57th Founders' Day Celebration is already with us. Endeavour to be part of it and, if possible, participate in the Dignity of Man Debate. It is open to all students of University of Nigeria.

Relax and enjoy the holiday. The SUG will continue to keep us abreast with the happenings within the school community.

Happy Sunday
